VOLUNTEERS
Friends volunteers are a major part of Codorus State Park. These volunteers are able to work on projects helping with the growth and prosperity of the park. For example: the volunteers cut, split and sell firewood in the campground. Ice is also available. With these proceeds, the FOCSP helped purchase the bay window in the visitors center, the bow window in the classroom building, computer equipment, pool repairs, just to name a few. Some Past projects the volunteers have worked on are: The Codorus Blast; A float was entered in the Hanover Halloween Parade (they won 3rd prize); Halloween in the Park; Breakfast with Santa; an Easter Egg hunt and already mentioned, firewood and ice sales. Present projects are The Gift Shop, which will have a variety of merchandise; A new playground that will be in the campground near the Amphitheater; The Codorus Blast, which will be better than ever and several times throughout the year, park clean-up days. Future projects will include an Equestrian Overnight site, and continuing programs such as The Codorus Blast, Breakfast with Santa, Halloween in the park, Easter egg hunt and the Halloween parade. Volunteers are needed right now to help cut, split and stack firewood for the 2008 camping season. If you have any spare time call Dick Stoner at: 717-637-2816 for more information.
